Nursery Program

Our nursery school curricula focus on developing small motor control as well as learning basic visual arts skills and concepts and, of course, having fun! Our teachers have expertise and experience in teaching this age group. Sample units include Making Faces that is inspired by mask-making from around the world and We Tell Stories based on popular books like “The Cat in the Hat” and “Where the Wild Things Are.” Color theory, symmetry, proportion and scale are included in the lessons. Diverse media are explored: drawing, painting, print-making, clay, collage, and 3D sculpture. Observation and perception are key to both science and art in the early years. We include projects that involve recycled materials, nature cycles, eco-systems, anatomy and animals.
